On behalf of our staff, welcome to Edgewood Middle School, home of the Cougars! At EMS, we strive to ensure all students succeed as lifelong learners and productive citizens by providing them with standards based instruction driven by data while incorporating best practice teaching strategies. Using educational tools such as teacher based teams and student standards trackers, our teachers embrace the true spirit of an innovative mindset. Our staff works diligently on a daily basis to provide students with challenging and meaningful learning opportunities, character building using a Positive Behavior Intervention System, an extensive career education program, and transitional support for all students. We recognize that during their time in our building, all students will be going through many social, physical, emotional, and educational changes. The adults in this building are here to support both students and parents in navigating these middle school years.

We look forward to working with all community members as our students move through the maturation process in grades 6 through 8. Our goal is for students to leave our building confident and prepared for the next stage of their life.  At EMS our doors are always open and we encourage all parents to take an active role in their child's education.

Thank you and Go Cougars!

Respectfully,

Mr. David Slamer
